Digital Audio Workstation

Post by MrAnonGuy »

Greetings Friends,

I have a complete Linux based DAW at my disposal. Perhaps I can be of some assistance with sampling (or synthesizing) sound effects, and/or composing some original music for games/addons.

Do Daggerfall-style music...

JUST DO IT. Don't let my dreams be dreams... Oh nevermind.

But yes, if you want to contribute medieval-style music, do so. We'll all be grateful.

Greets!

I'm not sure you really want real Medieval music. You probably want Hollywood sound track stylized music from Medieval themed movies. That kind of thing. It a pretty far stretch from the Blues/Rock & Roll that l play, but as time permits and I get motivated, I'll put a little demo of something together. 8-)

What software are you using? It's pretty hard to find good software DAW on linux. Especially with good tools for MIDI sequencing / composing.

Hi,

Lots of software is out there for Linux. The learning curve can be steep, though.

Fedora with RealTime low latency kernel and packages from Planet CCRMA repository
Ardour Multi-track digital recording system with effects racks
Rose Garden Multi-track Midi Sequencer/Digital Recorder/Notation Editor
Qsynth Software Synthesizer (digital sampled Sound font based)
Bristol Software Synthesizer (models classic analog synths and organs)
ZynAddSubFx Software Synthesizer (analog based)
Phasex (experimental analog soft syth)
Hydrogen Drum Machine
Jack Rack

Just to name a few....
