It would be nice if things like the hud, the crosshairs, and the player (once we have that feature) could be toggled on and off for making videos. Maybe there could be a series of things that turn off by typing one command.

Yes it would. I wish I knew C++.
Anyway, +1 for this. There was no good way to do this in the original game.

Original game had ToggleMenus, although that didn't hide the crosshair. IMO crosshair in a video is fine.
