when a unit is within weapon reach, the crosshair goes red.
damage values and hit chance gets displayed for every attack.

Some kind of combat log wouldn't be a bad idea. OpenMW has to run the calculations and process the results anyway, so why not store them in a log that can be viewed in a separate window overlay. Could even be a helpful debug aid.
