Could we create a GitHub account that all launchers use? Simultaneous login with the same account on several machines is not an issue, I think.

This is based on Sparkle for macOS. Not sure if there is a Linux equivalent.

The Linux equivalent for auto-updating would be whatever package manager your distro uses. Just need to put the packages into the relevant repository. I just hope the Ubuntu daily PPA gets fixed soon. That made things so easy.
