Over The Shoulder Camera

Post by GeorgeDaPlayer »

Heya folks! Just wondering if it's possible to make an over the shoulder cam like in MGE. Would be cool to see this as an ingame option as well!

Big apologies if I made a post in wrong section or did it in a wrong way, still adapting to forums!

Cheers! ;)

First, everything* is possible. Second, your idea (changing camera angles/positions in fact) is not new and has been at bugtracker roadmap for indefinite future**.

I honestly wonder why over the shoulder view is so popular in modern videogames, though.

Welp, this is why I wrote about it.

Knew that for a looong time already to be honest but thanks for reminding me.

Just because.

Nah I'm kidding. There's definitely a reason* for this. For me it's opening a better view of what's going on since most important parts of screen opens up - middile and upper - this way it's easier to see enemies, important stuff like signs, quest npcs and the whole beauty of Morrowind.

Also - I'm looking forward to making a game in OpenCS**, this is one of the reasons why am I asking this question.

Also - why on bugtracker? Is this a bug? This is rhetorial question.

Overal sad to hear this little sweet feature won't be implemented anytime soon but still hoping to see it in action sometime cause devs are doing great job! Big respect to them for this project.

Thanks for answer!

* - tons of reasons
** - not 100% but I'll try at least out of pure curiosity

The bugtracker also handles features; it's used for all (or almost all) the work coordination on code.
