Can I help?

Hello OpenMW Team,
I've been a big fan of Morrowind since around release and I've been following this project for a couple years now. Excited for 1.0 and beyond.
I have some experience with every Construction Set/GECK/Creation Kit Bethesda has released, but I'm no pro.
I've been tinkering with blender and feel I could make some simple but useful models if needed, although my texturing needs practice.
I'm no artist.
I made a "Console Box" that I think turned out great: 8-)

Just got my first .nif exported from Blender and into Fallout 3:

I'm aspiring to become a programmer, but I don't have much experience (mainly BASH scripting and Unity C#, a tiny bit of Java from Android app tinkering).
I've done some (a little?) scripting in Morrowind and Oblivion-New Vegas. And I am a fast learner.
I have a current (as of 8.20.2017) build-from-source of OpenMW running on Ubuntu 16.04.
The main thing I can probably contribute would be time. I can play-test the game on my Ubuntu build (and probably Windows).
I can provide feedback on any bugs I may encounter. I have a couple ideas for Features too, maybe post 1.0 though...
I could probably also contribute to the Example Suite Project in a few different ways.
Thanks for reading.
Hope I can help.

Sure you can. The assets in the Example Suite aren't very impressive, but this makes it easier for beginners to contribute.

In case you don't feel like you're ready to make textures yet, there's the possibility of expanding the current village/fort models and just applying the same textures we currently have to them. You know how to UV-unwrap, right?

I've messed around a little in Blender, but any links you may have that could help me are appreciated.
I'm a noob at pretty much everything. But with the right resources, I could do some good.
EDIT: NVM - Got the .omwaddons loaded. Missed a README...

UV-unwrapping is like reverse origami. You unwrap a 3D object onto a 2D plane and then apply the 2D texture on it. To be honest, I just Youtubed for a video on this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3451Y98vVcI

I don't think that there are any very good explanations on how to unwrap. You can take a look at my models and how I unwrapped them. You'll probably need to take a look at my models anyway, since I'd have you consistently replicating their style when making new variations. After you go through how to unwrap a cube, go through walls.z and and have a look at the models I made. https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/3459

Btw if you want to discuss stuff without delay, you can find me on Discord. https://discord.gg/BPDKdvX
