Hi,
nice project. I would like to contribute.
No experience with C++, OOP & design patterns.
Some exp. with small programs written in C.
Excited by new or weird languages like Lisp, Haskel, Go.
Experienced Linux user.
A little bit familiar with dev tools like Eclipse, makefiles, git, gdb.
Quite familiar with original game.
I was able to compile recent version from git. So, I suppose that I can help with testing, reverse engineering of the original or the wiki.
offering some help
Re: offering some help
I suggest you testing. We need lot of testing.
You have some programming knowledge so you can try to do some bug squashing, or at least try to reproduce bugs and provide additional information about them.
And, of course, read this http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html

Yes, glorf is speaking truth.
We are getting very close to the 1.0.0. You can see it from here already… Pushing 1.0.0 with bugs will trigger flame, even bigger than usual (our performance is currently poor at best).
