How can I show the magic effect bookkeeping and feather/burden?

We have no magic menu and I don't think the little active effect icons next to the mini map work. We can't cast spells and such, or if we can I don't know how.
I couldn't find an enchanted item with a constant effect burden or feather effect to equip for showing the influence on encumbrance.

Can anyone suggest a way to demonstrate them, or should I just mention them?

Just mention them. As you found out, in theory you could put on an enchanted item with a constant burden/feather/fortify maximum magicka effect. But unfortunately something like this doesn't seem to exist in Morrowind.esm. At least I couldn't find any when I tried to test these features; which is why these features are untested at this point.

Goodness all riding on me!
I'm sorry guys I've gotten held up by a bunch of weird stuff the last few days. I have the bulk of the video left to produce, it will take some time, but it will be done (for sure) by tonight (East coast, USA). If you are antsy to release, go ahead, I'd hate to hold everyone back. Unfortunately I have an errand to attend to right now :x , but it won't take long and then I can get straight to work.
