Closing some bugs as duplicates

Post by Allofich »

I'm trying to clean up the bug tracker a little, and there are some issues I would like to close as duplicates. Any objections or opinions? Basically what I want to do is close issues that have the same underlying cause, leaving the one with the most accurate description, or the earliest one.

https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/2767

I want to close this as a duplicate of https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/2678. The underlying issue is that creatures don't disengage from combat before an attack has been attempted like they do in vanilla under certain circumstances. Bug 2678 comes later but has a more accurate title.

https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/2796
https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/2680

I want to close these as duplicates of https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/3049. The underlying issue is that drain and fortify affect the "modified," or maximum, stat of health, magicka and fatigue, while in vanilla they affect the current value. 3049 comes later but has the most accurate title.

https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/3628

I want to close this as a duplicate of https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/3254, which is earlier and is the same thing.

https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/3406

I want to close this as a duplicate of https://bugs.openmw.org/issues/2623, and change 2623's title to something like "AI spell selection is different from vanilla," since we don't need individual reports for all the differences in spell selection.

I'm fine with having the last example closed as a duplicate if it comes to that; I didn't learn until later that AI spell selection differed across the board. I still hope the issue itself will get another look-in.

Makes sense, feel free to go ahead in such cases. You can always see the closed bugs under duplicates still so it's not like any information would be lost by closing them.

OK, I'll wait a little longer just in case, then close them.

Regarding that, I just posted about this issue that I think we should try to recreate the original AI.
