OpenMW's awareness project.

Anything related to PR, release planning and any other non-technical idea how to move the project forward should be discussed here.

Right, but consider this: Who will want to develop for the resurrection of a 2002 game? Well, the original fans of the game! If you advertise the project by running it on Ubuntu, you are advertising the portability of the game between operating systems. It is a rarity, yes. But Windows users still have regular Morrowind and it's modifications, which, for now, is vastly more extensive than OpenMW.
So, consider only the Linux users now: Take the intersection between the set of all Morrowind fans, and the set of all Linux users: Obviously, there's not many people in it. Both are already marginal groups, and there's little logical correlation between the two. These people must've originally played Morrowind on Windows, after all. Most of them probably already know of the project.

My advice is this: before advertising, you must first ask yourself: How will our project appeal to people who have never heard of, or have never had the chance to immerse themselves in the game before?

On the other hand, you have nothing to lose, unless you would be making a monetary investment in these advertisings, which I sincerely doubt.
