Launchpad uses the source tar ball I give it, it is pure source with everything necessary to build. Launchpad does not add or remove anything from this file. It is exactly what is used to build.
Update: the reasons above were because shiny was a submodule, this isn't the case anymore according to scrawl. If we ever go back to using submodules, it will be a problem again.
