Intel HD Graphics 2000 OpenMW performance on GNU/Linux

Post by Zoran »

I just wanted to inform you that I tested OpenMW version 0.43 on GNU/Linux platform on Intel HD Graphics 2000, and it is playable. My computer specifications are:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 Processor
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 2000
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333MHZ
SSD: SanDisk 120GB
OS: Linux Mint 19 "Tara"

I play on FHD 1920x1080 resolution, everything is maxout except water shaders which are turned off completely. With that in mind worst FPS are 30 FPS. Inside building I get up to 100 FPS.

Better than what I get with a 1050Ti using the Nouveau drivers (because this machine is about as stable as a house of cards otherwise - sheesh, can my next PC actually be more stable?), where I'm lucky to get 10fps outside.

That is Nvidia's fault. They are the ones to keep a secret ther harvare specs, and the community cannot easily make free software drivers.
