confused, do I have OpenMW 0.42 or not?

I'm running Xubuntu 16.04

When I check on the terminal, it says:

Code: Select all

openmw --version
Installing crash catcher
OpenMW version 0.41.0
But when I check on Synaptic Package Manager, it says installed version is 0.42.0+git201707271429~ubuntu16.04.1

I'm confused.

git201707271429
Technically, yes. A code for 0.42 was prepared in April.
Google says this package is a daily build based on master branch, but release version in master was increased in August, IIRC.

So you have two week old 0.43 development version.

Looks like you have the daily ppa installed, hence the *git* in the package name.

Does this mean that the OpenMW from Daily PPA is outdated then? Because according to the terminal, the version is 0.41.0.

I have these two PPAs installed:

Code: Select all

http://ppa.launchpad.net/openmw/openmw/ubuntu
http://ppa.launchpad.net/openmw/openmw-daily/ubuntu
Could there be a conflict?

You're correct, the daily is currently broken due to a change in file location in master. I've fixed this in Debian (which it syncs from) and waiting for it to propagate.
