[Possibly Solved] [Mac OS X] Balmora causes game to freeze (OpenMW 0.42)

No. OpenMW allow to use a separate data folder for every plugin. If you use this method, you can easily enable/disable plugins without deleting any files.
Should I be worried about those script errors?
This plugin may not work properly.

Thanks again for clarifying. Will install as you suggested - with separate data folders. I found the OpenMW mod installation guide https://wiki.openmw.org/index.php?title ... stallation.

Will also do a clean install of OpenMW like you suggested and see if that fixes anything

I did everything you told me to and my game still freezes when I get near Balmora :(
  • I'm using the latest OSX nightly build (as of this comment that is the July 6 version).
  • I deleted Morrowind and OpenMW completely and then reinstalled.
  • I reorganized my mods using the multiple data folder system as you suggested (love it btw, so much easier to install/uninstall mods)
  • The "good" news is I tested the save on absolutely no mods again, and there was no issue. I'm getting more certain it's a mod issue.
  • Not sure how important this is, but: the bug seems to happen (or at least I notice it happening) after I explore this one portion of the Ascadian Isles.
EDIT: I FINALLY FOUND THE MOD RESPONSIBLE. Yaaay. It was Intelligent Pack Guars CTN. http://mw.modhistory.com/download-59-5070.

I stumbled upon the Nexus version of the file (http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/302/?) and the comments reveal several other users suffered similar freezes in their games.

Just to summarise: This is not OpenMW's fault; the issue also occurs in vanilla Morrowind. Thus, further research is optional.
