Re: Xubuntu 16.04.2 Fatal Error Crash
BTW @Scrawl: There is an open PR that uploads builds to launchpad from Travis.
https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/pull/1064
"If it works, then our daily build PPA will automatically be tied to travis, and not be dependent on other systems"

Re: Xubuntu 16.04.2 Fatal Error Crash
OK, to clarify... the latest openmw on the ppa works on my xenial with swrast.
This is with Scrawl's OSG-3.4 fork.
Using OSG-3.5.5 causes a crash, but this shouldn't effect our PPA.

Re: Xubuntu 16.04.2 Fatal Error Crash
This might be related since ya'll are talking about libbullet2.86, when I try to install the dependencies to build OpenMW I get an error when it tries to install libbullet2.86. I've tried this on both Linux Mint 18.1 and Ubuntu 16.10 and both of them give me the following terminal output:
https://paste.safe.moe/raw/lepozoluke
I'm new to ganoo slash linux so I don't know if it's my fault but it was a fresh install of Ubuntu and I just did what the wiki told me to do: https://wiki.openmw.org/index.php?title ... tup#Ubuntu

Re: Xubuntu 16.04.2 Fatal Error Crash
Thanks for the console output. It seems that the original 2.86 package from Debian (experimental)[1] that I backported didn't rename SOVERSION from 2.85 to 2.86.
I'll see if they fixed that downstream and back port that, if not I'll modify it later today.

Re: Xubuntu 16.04.2 Fatal Error Crash
Just a heads up to say that new versions of Bullet and OSG with corrected SOVERSION information are being built on ppa:openmw/staging
When they are ready, I'll then rebuild the latest OpenMW release and once tested, migrated to ppa:openmw/openmw
This includes an additional fix that came into scrawl's OSG fork.

Re: Xubuntu 16.04.2 Fatal Error Crash
Is there a source on the difference between each of the OpenMW PPAs? I don't really understand the difference between daily, nightly, and staging.psi29a wrote:Just a heads up to say that new versions of Bullet and OSG with corrected SOVERSION information are being built on ppa:openmw/staging

Re: Xubuntu 16.04.2 Fatal Error Crash
official releases: ppa:openmw/openmw
nightly/daily builds of master: ppa:openmw/openmw-daily
staging: ppa:openmw/staging
staging is a special place for RCs and experimental package builds. Once they are finalized and OK, then they are moved over to the official (and daily) PPA. In this way we can minimize breakages and package conflicts while making builds. I do not recommend anyone use staging unless they want to test RC builds of OpenMW, it is more for me to get everything in place for making releases.
If you want the latest development builds, daily, then use the daily PPA.
For everyone else, official PPA is just fine.
