@Gez: That's because Mark, of Crystal Scrolls, helps OpenMW when he has time. That is why we have support for the two expansions, multiple bsa/esm support.

This project is currently on INDEFINITE HIATUS. Sorry folks, but Real Life (TM) has kept pushing me into different directions. Last year, I had decided to join the OpenMW project, another Open Source Morrowind engine, helping them to get some things running they hadn't implemented yet. Took much longer than expected. And then, private complications started eating every single free minute in my life, which is still on-going

In a nutshell: I still want to return to this project at some point in the future, but I have totally no idea when this might be. My most optimistic estimate is "this year", but it could easily take longer than that. Unfortunately, I have a huge backlog of more important things to get back on track...

I believe the max and min height are ~ 32k/-32k.

In regards to a general TES game. I see no reason why OpenMW couldnt be made into one at some point in the future. At least with the ability to allow OB. Yes, more coding work would be needed, but compared to the work required to finish OpenMW, its not nearly as daunting. Oblivion used additional NIF features, something that can happen in the future(although moving away from nif files right?). Scripting would be a major challenge though as would integrating physics, however, we should have physics slated to expand at some point anyway. Game mechanics between both games are similiar enough that you could probably get away with some sloppiness here. The lockpicking mechanic would be one major thing to pay attention to but everything could mostly work well enough.
Yea, would be work, but OpenMW serves very well as a base.

Hello, sorry, work's interfering with a lot of things. For some reason, the Oblivion installer in wine crashes. I've installed it into an XP VM, and am using TEStroi to convert Oblivion.esm into a Morrowind-compatible esm as done by the TEStroi dev. If that works and I can load the Tamriel landscape into OpenMW, I will try again but with the Nehrim esm. Not sure what they've called the worldspace for Nehrim but I'll work it out. VM is as slow as hell though - this will take some time!

if you can install oblivion, you can use the utility "tesannwyn" to convert oblivion maps to morrowind (or vice versa) even if you cannot play oblivion

You might remember this thread from ages ago. I totally forgot about it, sorry. Here's the converted land:

I can't make heads nor tails of it with OpenCS SVN. Perhaps it can be useful to someone?

TESTroi has converted the land over. There's lots of errors when loading via TES Construction Set (morrowind) and OpenCS refuses to open it at all:

Any more details? Maybe report it on the bug tracker?

AFAIK OpenCS validates the inputs because it shares the esm component with OpenMW. Not sure how to relax the checking without affecting both. This one might be for zini or scrawl.
