I would need a way to keep the button pressed in the non-active window of Morrowind.

Actually the Q button do not run, it only walks... :(

But I got something. Using the editor I set the Athletics increase to 1.0 and ran against a wall.

From 36 to 37 it needed 27 seconds.
From 38 to 39 it needed 29 seconds.

Unfortunately it seems I lost my stopwatch and I used my phone.

it works for running just as well. You need to press caps lock in order to get turn on "always run" first.

If you mean the results so far, clearly not! Two data points are not enough anyway. The whole thing needs to be worked into a formula (based on the generic skill gain formula we already have) and that needs to be tested. Also, we need to make sure, that no other factors influence the skill gain. And then the result needs to be put on the wiki.

I'm thinking you may want to count in units of animation cycles (every step the character takes) instead of in seconds. Doing it in terms of seconds was what caught us up the first time we were trying to figure these formulas out.

In terms of time, at least, extensive research has already been done on distance and time (though not for the leveling and XP gain). In terms of distance and time, the animation system required more than just a "Time=X, Distance=Y" approach, and I think that XP and level gain will probably be very similar.
