Spell Absorbtion additive?

So I found a 50% spell absorbtion amulet in TR and it turns out I have 100% spell absorption now. The way it worked originally is that the effects procced one after another so this would effectively give me a 75% absorption chance. Is this an intentional change? I can post a video later but my gpu is dying atm and openmw crashes very quickly.

This kinda breaks atronach mages since it blocks enemy and reflected spells and the only thing that's a real threat is marksmanship. Of course, reaching 100% absorption might be a bit more difficult in vanilla, but it's still achievable.
