has anyone received any updates lately?

Post by argonvegell »

I'm running Xubuntu 16.04.3

This is my latest received update from OpenMW:

Code: Select all

Start-Date: 2017-07-28 17:20:47
openmw-data:i386 (0.41.0+git201707270017~ubuntu16.04.1, 0.42.0+git201707271429~ubuntu16.04.1)
openmw:i386 (0.41.0+git201707270017~ubuntu16.04.1, 0.42.0+git201707271429~ubuntu16.04.1)
openmw-launcher:i386 (0.41.0+git201707270017~ubuntu16.04.1, 0.42.0+git201707271429~ubuntu16.04.1)
End-Date: 2017-07-28 17:22:48
So from July 28 to Aug 19, I haven't received any updates.

I have these PPAs installed on my system:

Code: Select all

ppa:openmw/openmw
ppa:openmw/openmw-daily

You only need one or the other, the daily one is what I run.

However, the reason you haven't gotten any updates is because the build is broken... @psi29a I think you addressed it in another post, but could you elicidate the issue again here?

Already addressed in another thread, but yeah... we know the PPA daily is broken. It's going to take time to figure out.

We use the debian repo to help build the releases, but it is expecting files to be there that aren't anymore in master. I'm still trying to think of an appropriate solution, but the best I have is to modify Debian's master once it has been uploaded and there is a release. Sadly I'm blocked from doing so because ogre-1.9 and myqui libraries were broken recently with gcc-7 and need to be rebuilt... I have no idea when this will happen.

So there is a long line of things that have to have, some of which are out of our hands...

Okay, hopefully Daily PPA gets fixed.

Until then, any other way to get updated to the latest version? I see there's a new third PPA I didn't notice before called OpenMW Staging, what is that?

I would just wait it out, is there a particular fix you are in need of?

Nothing, force of habit, I always want my system to be up to date.

What's this OpenMW Staging though?
