Missing .dll's

Post by lgromanowski »

SGMonkey wrote: Hey people, just downloaded and tried out the latest BETA. I'm running Windows 7 64 and I seem to be getting complaints from OpenMW about missing .dll's

All the older BETA versions ive tried are working fine. It says i need "msvcp100.dll" and "msvcr100.dll". I have downloaded these but when i try to run it i get "The procedure entry point_invalid_parameter_noinfo_noreturn could not be located in the dynamic link library MSVCR100.dll"

I was just wondering if any of you had any clues as to why it aint playing nicely.

Just so you know, I think you guys are doing a great job, if I didn't have my own game projects on the go I would more than likely help out.

I eagerly await being able to wander the exterior regions of Vvardenfell in a nice new engine.

It's all working now, and im impressed. Ive been playing around looking in different cells, and i noticed this

It seems in the cell "Vivec, High Fane" there are some objects that are rotated.

Just letting you know :)

keep up the good work

Kind of a known issue. OpenAL seems to work better for MineCraft than it does for us (not saying much)

Err, any solution? Or I'm stuck?

copy the file soft_oal.dll (in Win32) next to openmw.exe, and rename the dll to OpenAL32.dll.

If the OpenAL installer is having issues, perhaps the appropriate DLLs should just be packaged with the executable..
gwathlobal wrote: Ok, I found the problem - it had nothing to do with OpenAL.
You have to download the 2010 version of the Microsoft Visual C runtime redistributable.

I think this should be in the installation notes. And I can't edit wiki articles so somebody of you should add this.
Thanks to everybody for help.
