I would like to take part in OMW developing (espessially, in programming), but now I cann't do this. May I help you in sound & music part instead of coding?

I've uploaded some my "creative releases" :) to youtube. There are only guitar, but soon I want take piano and combine these two instruments to improve music quality.

If music will be interesting I can make more melodies which will be the OMW music.

Personally i think that new music is always welcome. Record, upload to planetelderscrolls and let anybody to use it!
Vance987 wrote: Well.... we will need some more music if we're gonna rewrite everything... including the music player. *cough* Every night when I go to bed.. I dream of a new epic music player for morrowind. :geek: Yes I know, I'm a nerd. XD

There will be my creative stuffs.
E.g., this, I hope, is very appropriate as battle music - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AInjrKLN40

Vance987 wrote: I want the whole nine yards for music lol... I'd like to have separate stuff for every single place. It would be fairly simple for Nico to incorporate this. Just a little bit of work by putting each cell in *x* folder and then making it user friendly with other options. I'm sick and tired of morrowind's music system where it lags all of the time, randomizes every single music file you have in the folder, and cuts off what you're listening to when you get into a fight with some npc.

This will be very interesting, but until I receive support and some "roadmap" from openmw lead, this process will be chaotic.
Vance987 wrote: Yesh... I think a roadmap is on it's way though. :) Thanks to pogzy nico and others. And as of what I'm seeing.. there has been some progress with support issues. :3

IMHO it would be really cool to have as the intro/main menu music, not at least because it wouldn't be bound by the Bethsoft copyrights. It would also be a unique thing that really sets OpenMW apart from the original from the start.

I agree 100%. A better music player is trivial to make, so why not do it (at some point later, not saying this is top priority now.)

Having separate playlists for caves, taverns, houses and even for outdoor regions would be great. It would require people to mark each cell/location manually though since there is no inherent difference between these places in the dataset. You could do some heuristics as a first guess. Eg. if most of the static meshes are rocks, it's a cave. If the name contains "guild" and "mage" it's a mage's guild, and so on. But those would still only be guesses.
sir_herrbatka wrote: There is no doubts that you should record more. Really. New music is ALWAYS cool and new music with some kind of CC license is always awesome.

And you may be sure that it will be usefull - even with old music player you will make great modder stuff!

but plz, record and upload with bigger bitrate, maybe not to youtube.
zdo wrote: I have some problems with sound recording, but I hope I'll eliminate them. You can listen new music file - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ6UYxsrfiI
My earlier compositions has only guitar, and now there are much more instruments (harp, cello, another strings, drums). Please listen it and comment.

And can somebody tell me good uploader with online playing - not youtube - because I have only sound not video.

Jamendo seems to be very interesting site, thanks.
I'll upload file in good flac quality little later - now there are some troubles with internet connection.
sir_herrbatka wrote: Yessssssssss, but don't forget plz ;)

I know that things that are done with sound on youtube are just horrible. And i want hear it in lossless quality. :-)

see here - http://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/Zganjajko_Dmitrij/

UPD:
Fuck! I discovered, that jamendo all the same converts music to mp3 format.
However, I didn't see any difference between mp3 and flac sound. But if you really want flac file, please download it from there - http://rghost.net/2044610
sir_herrbatka wrote: Thank you!

In fact I want to have this in flac just in case of hdd failure or something. :-)

PS
You used very good samples here, my friend. It sounds awesome.
