Looks good. Might have been easier using cpack than building the control file yourself but this is the proper way anyway :)

I am interested in setting up a PPA for this project as a way to learn how they work and also it's my way of helping what I think is a great project. I know c++ but am not familiar with the codebase and any of the libraries it uses, so while I've been poking around it, I want to help in meaningful ways. Making it accessible to people who might not have tried it otherwise sounds like a good start. :)
