Trailing Spaces

I recently found a plugin for gedit, that removes trailing spaces. Very useful, but it causes somewhat larger commits, because our current code base has a lot of trailing spaces.
I suggest, that everyone uses this feature (most editors should have it as a build-in feature). Unless the majority of developers is against it. Then I will uninstall the plugin again (working with mixed settings is really no good here).
