Restricted access to openmw.org group of sites

Post by muarvyn »

I have encountered a message:
"
Error 1005 Ray ID: 3c11e74234a48b2e • 2017-11-21 07:23:23 UTC
Access denied
What happened?

The owner of this website (openmw.org) has banned the autonomous system number (ASN) your IP address is in (15895) from accessing this website.

Cloudflare Ray ID: 3c11e74234a48b2e • Your IP: 37.229.218.20 • Performance & security by Cloudflare
"
while attempting to access wiki.openmw.org and some other *.openmw.org sites. Is there way to fix it?
In case it is due to security policy of the site, please, revise the security policy to improve its efficiency.
Thanks

Hi,
you have to thanks to your provider Kyivstar which is used for spam and hacking attempts. I'm not going to change this restriction.

Is the Ukraine full of old windows boxes being used by botnets? Or does the fact that this ISP uses dynamic IPs make it more attractive to launch attacks from?

I honestly don't know, but amount of bots from that network trying to do something nasty with our webpages is really huge :|

FYI, I'm in Seoul, Korea and my provider is Korea Telecom (Kornet), yet I'm encountering this same issue. Have you blocked the entire Republic of Korea as well?
