We already have a way to mark up a block of code on this forum, but I keep wanting to write something simple like a type or variable name and have the option of either breaking the flow of a sentence by putting it on a new line in a [ code][/code] tag, or alternatively risk ambiguity by not formatting it at all.

Could we get an alias for the <tt> tag? Though it's a bit outdated, lgro do you have a better suggestion?

Github seems to use <code></code> for inline code in PR comments.
