No support in the General Discussion

Post by Jyby »

For the sake of organization and a one stop shop for our team looking to assist people:

Can we put a statement in the General discussion description, with the hope of people reading it, telling people to post support questions in the Support section.

Something like:
A generic talk on the OpenMW project. Not for Support questions.
or something more effective if you think of it.

How about
A generic talk on the OpenMW project.
For technical support, please use the Support subforum.

Hi,
is this version OK? Should I put it in General forum description?

I would say "General discussion regarding the OpenMW project" instead of "A generic talk on the OpenMW project" but it's just nitpicking, it looks good.

That definitely sounds better.

@lgro:
General discussion regarding the OpenMW project.
For technical support, please use the Support subforum.
That should do it.

Great initiative. This is a quite annoying problem.

Thank you, lgro!

Btw: If you granted me moderator rights, I'd dig through the subforum and move relevant threads to the Support subforum. (Unfortunately, our global mod Jyby is currently inactive -- and I guess that psi29a has better things to do.)

I usually don't get involved unless it is to warn people, ban people/bots or delete/clean up spam, the Judge Dredd of the forums... sometimes, slice/dice topics if there's time. Sorry I'm not more active than that. :(
