Re: Website
I will do it firstZini wrote:Let's make a list with unfinished/untackled tasks, so we make sure not to miss any:
1. The old forum needs to be moved to the new one. Each old forum section should get a pinned thread pointing both to the archived forum section and the live forum section on the new forum.
If you don't mind I will suggest to leave wiki with a default skin, because it's more readable, second I thinkZini wrote: 2. Both wiki and forum need a new skin. I think someone mentioned using something like on the very old openmw pages (on sourceforge). I think that is a good idea.
we could use a theme which looks like: http://cygnusdivision.pl/ or Burning Crusade World of Warcraft or maybe like that: http://karsten.deviantart.com/art/Fanta ... e-83220159 (but this one have a bit too much borders).
They looks more modern than skin from sourceforge - I mean fancy borders, nice banner on the top of page etc.
I'll search for "obsoleted" template. I have changed links on main page from wiki-faq to the mainsite-faq.Zini wrote: 3. FAQ: We currently have an totally outdated FAQ page on the Wiki (Faq), a slightly outdated FAQ page on the wiki (FAQ) and an up to date FAQ on the main page. The totally outdated one must be flagged as obsolete (still need a template). Then either the link on the main pages needs to be directed to the wiki (which would need updating then) or the 2nd FAQ on the wiki needs to be flagged as obsolete too and the FAQ link on the wiki main page needs to be directed to the main page.
Ok, removed.Zini wrote: 4. The about link on the main page needs either to be removed or filled with content. Since we have an FAQ already I think an about page is semi-redundant.
Link to Google Code added.Zini wrote: 5. The download link on the main page needs to point to google code.
Changed link to the videos on wiki to the Media on main site.Zini wrote: 6. The media link neesds to be filled with content. We had two media pages on the wiki that didn't make it into the new one (both with links on the wiki main page). This should be unified somehow.
I don't know all people involved in OpenMW development process, would you edit this page and add proper persons here with functions (i.e. developer, graphican, etc.) and status (active / not active), please?Zini wrote: 7. The "The Team" link on the main page needs to be filled with content. We had a page with the same purpose on the wiki (also gone). Needs to be unified also, one way or another.
Done.Zini wrote: 9. Wiki main page cleanup, "Download OpenMW" section: Point the changelog to the tracker (showing the changelog).
It's pointing to bugtracker roadmap alreadyZini wrote: 11. Wiki main page cleanup: "Contributions Wanted" link: I think it should point to the tracker (maybe the current roadmap?)
I think no, but maybe others will have suggestions.Zini wrote:Did I miss any?

The default skin looks a bit bland. But I am easy to convince by arguments that favour usability over looks. So, okay. I am also okay with trying out a different theme for the forum. If you don't mind I will suggest to leave wiki with a default skin, because it's more readable, second I think

I don't have that list either. There is so much coming and going, that it is hard to keep track. I guess the best we can do is to list all current and future developers. The original intention with the wiki page was, that each developer would add himself, once he had contributed something to OpenMW.I don't know all people involved in OpenMW development process, would you edit this page and add proper persons here with functions (i.e. developer, graphican, etc.) and status (active / not active), please?
Not here. I am getting this link: http://openmw.org/projects/openmw/roadmapIt's pointing to bugtracker roadmap already
which takes me to a 404 page on the main site.

I'm typing too fast and eating a words - that examples was related to the main site.Zini wrote:The default skin looks a bit bland. I'm open for suggestions about the forum skin as long as it will not be some customized skin which will be broken after some forum upgrade.
Btw. there are two skins except default one: DarkFantasy (old forum) and ProSilver SE (which looks like the one from phpbb.com site/forum). I'm also considering about installing Weapons and Adventures theme, but I think it should be modified a bit.
//EDIT:
The Team page on main site is updated - if I missed somebody or someone wants to have a link to the
homepage then please write here, or send me a message.
Re: Website
Rhys S, and Horrowind are not developers. At least I don't remember seeing any code contribution from them. Some of the other names are completely unknown to me, but maybe I remember them only by their forum/github nick. Where did you get that list from?
Re: Website
Actually, Ohloh has a complete list of developers: http://www.ohloh.net/p/openmw/contributors. Don't know why I didn't remembered it at first.
We should also list the builders for the three main platforms: Hircine (Linux), Corristo (OS X) and Ace (Windows). And maybe our new release manager: raevol. These guys go into a separate section. If you want you can list yourself as web admin there too.

I have got it from bugtracker (they are registered there).Zini wrote:Rhys S, and Horrowind are not developers. At least I don't remember seeing any code contribution from them. // EDIT: Ok, corrected "The Team" page, and changed Rhys S, and Horrowind roles in bugtracker to reporters.
Re: Website
Was there a discussion about using "Open Morrowind" as a title for the project and website? That seems to be the case now at openmw.org. Afaik that might be infringing a trademark and thus dangerous. Bethesda as a publisher has been very conscious about this kind of stuff lately (see here).

please check Bethesda forums: http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/t ... hl__openmw (I don't have time for searching for older topics, but if you're interested then probably you will find them).
