I currently don't see a solution or a positive result.
Regular new content on the main page is important.
Memes as many other unconventional stylistic choices should be used with care.

I can't stand the memes. Not just because I don't like Internet memes, they can indeed be funny (rarely). But I don't like attaching them to the personality of this project.

I love Sir_Herrbatka's English news posts (sans memes) all the more for their misspellings and awesome grammar. But if he is fed up with that task, that's all there is to it. He's been diligent and done them regularly for a long time.

If I decided that I was done making release commentaries or didn't have time or whatever, you guys would have to find someone else to do it plain and simple. As it now stands, I enjoy making them. But I don't believe that would be the case if I had to do them in something other than my native language as well.

If some sort of system for proofreading future blog posts is set up, I'm certainly willing to volunteer as a proofreader.

I *might* volunteer to take over the weekly updates, but someone's gotta teach me how to find the git info. I only know where that master branch commit log is, and I'm not sure it's the most up-to-date info.

+1 SH is the cheerleader of OpenMW, everyone relies on him!

Put it to the polls...

1) keep it as-is
2) keep it as-is, without memes
3) sanitize it (SH writes it, native edits it)
4) someone else write it

Lgro, can you setup an (official) poll for us please?

I'm on the same foot as Raevol, I'd do the weekly updates, but someone teach me where to get that information.
There is also the opportunity to rework them. I'm thinking of putting in something more for the community about OpenMW/Morrowind/Open-Source engines. I'm not completely worked out on the idea, and it would require some extra work every week, but there certainly is a lot potential in there.

But to be honest, I've always liked SH weekly updates and read them with eager. I'm happy as things stand now.
There is also the fact that we can't have different blog posts for different languages, so we only have to find a new translator, which we have already found. (thanks Lgro :) )

(case dismissed?)
