Re: "Downloads" page
I've added Edmondo's overlay, but I'm not sure if it's still valid (I don't use Gentoo).BrotherBrick wrote:There is also a gentoo ebuild... Anyone heard from the maintainer lately?
Could someone with Gentoo Linux confirm if this overlay is ok?

Re: "Downloads" page
Looks like we need another way to host our binaries:
https://lwn.net/Articles/551477/
We should archive all our files from there asap.
What are our options?
I think the following are NOT options:
Dropbox
Mediafile
Others like it
Things to think about:
Self hosting and letting a CDN take care of the rest like Cloudflare?
Anymore?

Re: "Downloads" page
We can store it on openmw.org (but in case of unexpected downtime they will be unavailable for end-users), and we could try to use SourceForge account.BrotherBrick wrote:Looks like we need another way to host our binaries:

Re: "Downloads" page
Can we be sure to host all of the files for each release version and for each platform that we've already accumulated? Or will that be too much for us?
We can point to sourceforge and ModDB (or any other that we use) as Mirrors for at least the most recent version.
I feel like it would also make sense to keep a Mirror at a place like Morrowind Nexus or the Morrowind Modding History site.

Re: "Downloads" page
On mydevil (openmw.org) I have 20GB of storage which can be used for our binaries, but it would be good to have this binaries mirrored in different places.Greendogo wrote:Can we be sure to host all of the files for each release version and for each platform that we've already accumulated? Re: "Downloads" page
That is why I suggested cloudflare, if openmw.org goes down then it is still cached and the downloads still available. It is free to use (as I use it for my stuff too). This will save openmw.org on bandwidth and give faster downloads to everyone and in case of mydevil outage serve as a cached page with links still available.lgromanowski wrote:On mydevil (openmw.org) I have 20GB of storage which can be used for our binaries, but it would be good to have this binaries mirrored in different places.
Sourceforge would be a second option.
