Guy on youtube starts a let's play with OpenMW...

... And he totally gets it. He totally understands the project. So great. I never watch let's plays, I've never watched a let's play for other reasons than to have a look at a game when there's no video review to watch. But I know people watch let's plays. And then it's nice when people get the corr...

Re: Partial fix for shiny rock textures

If you, however, want to use meshes too, you can open one with NifSkope and search for the path of reflection texture. It's located in NiSourceTexture which in its part located in NiTextureEffect. Then you will want to open this texture with any image editor with DDS support like Paint.net, GIMP, P...

Re: Lysol's normal mapped texture packs

Thanks, I agree. I actually thought about that too but I kinda rushed that texture a bit. Fortunately, the black part is a separate layer, so it's easy to just drag the opacity down a bit.

Re: Lysol's normal mapped texture packs

I haven't touched the models at all so far, so if I'm going to send you obj files, I'd have to figure out what models need fixing and also figure out what I need to convert from nif to obj. But I'll think about it. It'd be great to have some proper UV maps of course. I appreciate you wanting to help...

Re: Lysol's normal mapped texture packs

So yeah, I spent time making tx_common_stone_floor.dds and tx_common_stone_pillar.dds seamless. Bethesda rewards me with their amazing unwrapping.

Re: Release process changes

Just want to add one thing, although it seems you *might* have come to at least kind of a conclusion now? Has it actually been a problem that people *maliciously* posted videos or RC's before the official release? No, it's not a problem if you don't care about PR. But spreading a release video befor...

Re: Release process changes

I get the point with having RC:s public. OpenTTD announce their RC:s on their news page for example. It makes sense and the argument that no one will confuse an RC for a final release makes sense, and having more testers for the RC:s are great of course. Release videos and the final release packages...

Re: Lysol's normal mapped texture packs

I'm not 100% sure the wood grain is all in the correct direction in the door texture here . It looks to me more like it's supposed to be built up from bars and panels, more like in this quick mockup I made in SketchUp: https://i.imgur.com/Vlco5w3.png Yeah I was deciding between if it was made from ...

Re: OpenMW 0.41.0

The reason for my inactivity Its actually something really good (unrelated to OpenMW obviously) but I can't talk about it yet. Probably later this year. Involving a certain total conversion mod? :) Haha, my first thought also. EDIT: But not my second. Didn't notice the "(unrelated to OpenMW ob...
