My rule of thumb is that if you hear them, it doesn't make a difference if you know their name/can read their text.
Then again, I am not the most observant (my hearing is actually really good, but I tend to play music while I play).

Re: My Sadrith Mora inpsection
One thing I think would be interesting is to get some hardware specs from everyone who's been having physics issues, and see if there's a problem with certain hardware and not happily loving the physics engine (OpenMW's is CPU-based, right? That should be pretty equally performing across manufacture...

Re: utymap - Library for dynamic 2D/3D map construction
I don´t think there´s anything that directly translates to a kilometer or a mile ingame. What we can do is compare how many exterior cells, or file size. I created an .esp file with Tesannwyn that´s 1.01 GB large. It´s nothing but land. For comparison, Morrowind.esm is 76.1 MB. And this includes a ...

Re: My Sadrith Mora inpsection
Also, does the tick rate really make a huge difference? The amount of screwing-up that's going on is so immense that it'll still cause incredible issues at a reduced rate, and I'd imagine that you're not going to get a 50% decrease in compute time: you'll make the physics run a little quicker on the...

Re: no cell loading?
Some of it seems to depend on storage and RAM. I have 24 GB of RAM and Morrowind on a SSD, and I get pretty much no load times (though I didn't really have much before cell preloading). Sadly, I don't have a ton of time to stress test anymore.

Re: Yo, we got our first IRC Troll
Not to stir the flames, but perhaps the correct response to a troll on IRC is not to start a thread on the forum in which we devolve into internet political debates (with all the quality that includes) and basically give a ton of attention to a troll or a novice user who's just rubbing people the wr...

Well, if anyone wants me to benchmark the GTX 1080 on Ubuntu 16.04, let me know!
Re: 0.39 YAQP
Hey guys - Yet another question post First-off: It's amazing, I played Morrowind openmw and it was like it was fully playable?! Incredible, on first sight I could not see any bugs (besides some (maybe verbose) console output when casting restoration). Thank you so much for all of your work. 1.0 is ...

Re: Overhead Dialogue Text
Not entirely on topic, but I think it'd be good to allow to include speaker's name (as variable, like in "real" non-voiced dialogue) in subtitles like it's done in, uh, Skyrim, so some random mod could add something like this: Fargoth: I think we're about to become very close. %speakernam...

Re: Overhead Dialogue Text
I could see this being very useful for game designers who want to move away from using vanilla Morrowind content and create a new experience on OpenMW.
