Re: Elder-scrolls IV Oblivion
I hope it will be the all-in-one engine (some kind of OpenGamebryo), not a separate projects like OpenOB, OpenFO3, OpenSKY, OpenFNV, OpenFO4 etc. The trouble is that the Morrowind Gamebryo engine isn't the same as the Oblivion Gamebryo which is different again from FO3 Gamebryo. The base engine get...

Re: Elder-scrolls IV Oblivion
Damn, but that looks good
Makes me wonder if the Morrowblivion guys shouldn't have done it the other way around

Re: Fan of evil dead 2?
I wasn't sure until about halfway through the first one; I kept getting flashbacks to Duke Nukem Forever. This sounds fun, can you explain more? What do you mean? Morbid humor and trying too hard to be funny and failing at pretty much everything that counts? I suppose I was thinking of the endless ...

Just ask Darl McBride.

Re: Fan of evil dead 2?
Just watched five, and I have to say - good stuff!
I wasn't sure until about halfway through the first one; I kept getting flashbacks to Duke Nukem Forever. But once the show found its feet it's been nothing but fun. If that's the right word to use.

Re: Problems with Julan Ashlander/Other companion mods
I'm watching this with interest. About the only thing that keeps me playing the vanilla implementation rather than openMW is the lack of a functioning Vampire Embrace mod. If you get the bugs out of Julan, we can probably work out how to fix VE. I just wish I had a bit more free time so I could pitc...

Re: Revisiting the idea of FO3/Oblivion support
OpenMW is also a game engine... for you know, making your own game. A point which had not, in fact, escaped me :) No one _wants_ to work with NIFs. ;) Well no, of course not. NIFs are largely undocumented, and full of game and vendor specific extensions, and with numerous chunks of binary data that...

Re: Revisiting the idea of FO3/Oblivion support
AFAIK, there is no current effort to create an OMW proprietary model file type. If OpenMW had it's own model file, it wouldn't be proprietary because that would defeat the purpose of an open and cross-platform system. Even then, it would arguably be a bad idea considering that there are other bette...

Re: Revisiting the idea of FO3/Oblivion support
I've been learning a little about NIF lately. As I understand it, the idea of the NIF format is to store the information about the object in exactly the format it will load into the game. The idea being, of course, to eliminate delays while parsing and converting data. With that in mind, how useful ...

Re: Amulet of shawdows too OP
I keep thinking we should nerf daedric armour. I mean it's horribly overpowered. It offers way too much protection, and by the time you've finished enchanting it the weight isn't any sort of a drawback, and the damage you do with all that extra strength is completely over the top. It's clearly a bug...
