Re: Why no free/open source FPRPG's?
Ah, I see then. I am glad to hear OpenMW has more potential for reuse than Arx Fatalis :) OpenMW is not going to become universal engine for everything anytime soon, but it can be a good choice for most of FPP RPG games in the future . Hehe, I know, it does not even have combat implemented yet! :P E...

Why no free/open source FPRPG's?
So, one of the reasons I have started following OpenMW is because I had noticed that the FOSS game community was bare from first person RPG's, as far as I could tell. I think of OpenMW as possibly being a good engine for doing a total conversion. However, I recently discovered that Arx Fatalis, anot...

Re: No-boy ca-re due to lack of non-x86 testers and develope
My computer is an x86. OpenMW runs ok on my computer! It was a little difficult at first, but it sort of fixed itself when I goofed around with it.

Re: Having trouble running in Ubuntu
Alright, I am trying that now. It's actually crashing even faster than before, but I probably did something wrong. I have never installed proprietary drivers on Ubuntu before. This is so terrible. I am googling like crazy and am so frustrated :( Is it my hardware? I am using an HP Pavilion dv6000 (a...

Re: Having trouble running in Ubuntu
The window didn't actually closed this time, but it said the same error so I'm guessing it 'crashed'. Is that a feature of the debugger? Here's what i got from bt: (gdb) bt #0 0x00000000 in ?? () #1 0x08a57231 in Ogre::logObjectInfo(std::string const&, unsigned int) () #2 0x08a357fd in Ogre::GLS...

Having trouble running in Ubuntu
Hi, I have been looking for solutions to this and it looks like I am the only one with this sort of problem. I bought Morrowind on Steam on Windows, and used a flash drive to move the data files and ini to my laptop which runs on Ubuntu. Then I installed the package for OpenMW. It asks me where the ...
