Re: Benchmarks

I have to report here because this was really nice. I've been playing drums, guitar and have been singing since I was a kid, so I'm kind of a music geek. For a long time I've planned to build a new PC dedicated to recording music (and, just to give myself headaches, I'm going to use linux with Ardou...

Re: The new FAQ video(s)

451: This should make mods using the script extender compatible with OpenMW Not entirely sure about that really. From what I understand from Zini, he does not want to support MWSE, meaning mods that uses MWSE will not work out of the box. However , the functionality that MWSE gives will be supporte...

Trying to write a guide on how to fix shiny MCP bump maps

Hey all. I'm trying to learn nifscope and how the MCP bump map technique works, just to know how to remove it from the models. Before when I've used textures with normal mapping, I've just installed the textures, and not the models, but this only works when normal mapping was added to vanilla models...

Re: some textures aren't rendered correctly

Maybe someone should write a tutorial about how to make these mods compatible with OpenMW, so that everybody can do it if he wants. The included normal maps should be usable with it, after all. One problem could be that the MCP bump mapping technique tends to lighten the textures up so when used wi...

Re: The new FAQ video(s)

Very nice job, and very ambitious. :) I look forward to see these videos. I couldn't really come up with any suggestions for improvement though, sorry.

Re: Testing vanilla textures

I highly doubt we will ever see official High-Res textures for Morrowind I believe the same. even if they still exist somewhere. And even if we got them somehow, there would still be poorly detailed meshes with bad uv mapping all over the place, and if Morrowind mods taught me one thing it is that ...

Re: Extremely low performance

(630m should be able to run OpenMW, but not at high settings).. I have a 425m on my laptop, and I run OpenMW with around 40-50 fps with the water shader maxed (although I can't remember the other settings. I should also mention that the native resolution of that toaster of a screen is 1366x768), so...

If they did still have higher res stuff available, they probably would have released it already. I don't think they still have them actually.

Re: Testing vanilla textures

Unfortunately that's just something you have to live with when doing stuff like this. There are really no ways to magically add details to an image. Adding filters and sharpening it may help a bit (like in your case) but you'll also sharpen (and also increase) the noise in the image. So basically, t...

Hi Linda! Just bumping this since I'm interested to know if you've had the time/motivation for some progress lately. :)
