Re: Mod packaging and repositories

I think a uniform package management tool would be great. I quickly checked the nexusmods, and it looks like nearly every mod is licensed "all rights reserved, personal use only." This may be impossible, but it would be great if we could get modders to use standard licenses to make terms c...

Re: Debian Experimental Packages

Ogre 1.9 needs gcc4.8 Huh? Not aware of that. And I've built it with 4.6 just fine. On PowerPC and SPARC. I know, it's funny how we have to worry about that, but Debian strives to be universal Brotherbrick and I are looking forward to someone playing morrowind on a raspberrypi or SGI system;) Since...

Re: Debian Experimental Packages

Thanks -one thing though, everyone needs mygui from unstable. It won't be in testing for a little while until gcc4.8 is default compiler on SPARC and PowerPC. EDIT: never mind I'll do some magic and try to force it through it may take a few days Perhaps I am misreading something, but it looks like ...

Re: Debian Experimental Packages

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian experimental contrib for Testing and Unstable, as nothing from the Unstable contrib or non-free repos is needed, nor anything from the Experimental main or non-free repos, and because libogre-1.9 is available by default in Testing and Unstable. Thanks -one thing ...

Re: Debian Experimental Packages

I updated installation instructions to use the Debian experimental packages. The people.debian.org packages won't be updated any more now that it is in experimental. Instructions apply to both Jessie and Wheezy users.

Re: windows 98

I agree with wheybags, I don't really see the point in a win 98 version. I thought OpenMW was a fresh, modern engine made for today's computers (more or less), not a lighter engine for older computers. Why run the engine that will support loads of new graphical features (and other more advanced fea...

Re: To protect and infect.

As for the pervasiveness of security services... one has to wonder about things like Lenovo being bought from IBM by the Chinese... only to then be banned from government procurement (who had a large contract with IBM). One could argue that this was just a way of protecting home interests, but the ...

Re: OpenMW 0.28.0

is mygui 3.2.0 good with ogre3d 1.9? builds here. yes it is good, BrotherBrick just has to tell the debian package to use 1.9 instead of 1.8 (and probably should wait until openmw is also ready to upload built against ogre-1.9) regarding dependencies, I removed the Xt from openmw-launcher, and it b...

Re: OpenMW 0.28.0

Both MyGUI 3.2 and OMW 0.27 should compile against 1.9 as-is. What's the bug exactly? What is the libxt6 dependency for? We don't use X directly, so either SDL or Ogre should pull this in. as BrotherBrick said, the "bug" is just a request to update all ogre depending packages to ogre 1.9 ...

Re: Some questions about OpenMW!

Could you explain this? How, exactly, would development be improved if people could keep their contributions (or linking to code) closed-source? In addition, successful commercial games is the best advertising of engine. game and engine are two seperate things, I think you're confusing them. Game=M...
