Yeah I've seen people making modern day or futuristic stuff for Morrowind, even before OpenMW was a thing.
They never gained much traction but OpenMW definitely already makes it much more possible.

Substantial re-write? You do know that OpenMW post-1.0 includes the de-hardcoding right? That's still ways off, if ever. I've seen people loading F3 assets into OpenMW though right on this forum so it's definitely possible. :) Substantial rewrite would still be needed though. It's not like I'm bash...

Without a substantial rewriting of the engine you can't have anything except history or fantasy (which is basically spruced up history).

If I were to speculate from the "trailer", geographically it looks very much like Rihad (nothing else really fits), so Hammerfell.

Just in case you didn't know, you can pin the right-click menu map so it's always visible during gameplay. The minimap thingie was just as useless back when everyone played in glorious 640x480 as it is now, being more or less just a shortcut you can click on to restore main map window in the interfa...
