Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
Except he can't. The game Morrowind only features the island of Vvardenfell (and Solstheim), which it a mere portion of the continent of Tamriel. Without exploits, you need Tarhiel's scrolls of icarian flight to even have a hope of jumping from one end of the island to the other, let alone the leng...

Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
"See the console"? What do you mean by that? If you're talking about that fan theory that CHIM is a break of the fourth wall talking about the developer console and modding, you should know the person who came up with CHIM for TES disfavored the idea (the same person also says CHIM is a s...

Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
Idea: What if there was a total replacer that fixed every single mesh in the game and optimized meshes overall? What performance impact would that have? Would it move the bottleneck? Would it alter what you focused on in terms of engine? Or would it be negligible? Eh, no. Just because the game was b...

Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
If all the cells can be loaded at once without the engine crashing, what's to say the world can't just be frozen? What if you could tell the engine to just STOP, don't do anything that isn't already in memory. Then I would be able to do 60fps flybies of the continent with everything loaded at once. ...

Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
I suppose the confusion for me as an outsider with no knowledge of development ... If this game gets the single best optimizations in the history of programing ... I get the feeling Xenuria is a troll. Would have to be a really high effort troll considering I am the only person who does niche video...

Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
* You're moving at ludicrous speed that is unlikely to happen during gameplay. I think you may have just outed yourself there. The whole point of Morrowind was that you became a literal god and could jump continents, pickpocket from orbit, command entire towns with magic, etc. It's written into the...

Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
Behold 2 videos. https://youtu.be/tMyubBLTLLs - https://pastebin.com/UUEvqZcA https://youtu.be/4W-32l1OfMI Notice the sharp difference? The entire time Memory never goes above 3.5GB of RAM and it never uses more than 17% of my 1080 GPU. If the bottleneck IS CPU than we have a really sad problem on o...

Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
I think I would feel better if I knew what I could do to allocate more resources to the game on a hardware level. The only issues I have are loading Cells, the game halts for a good 2 seconds and that is realistically the only time the OpenMW client falters at all for me. I let the game use as much ...

Re: CPU and Single Core Implications
I suppose the confusion for me as an outsider with no knowledge of development is why would you prioritize features and quests and mechanics over the core stability and efficiency of the game engine it'self? It's a single core game, which is not ideal but I am told neccecary. What about the bottlene...

Re: OpenMW multiplayer is here!
My biggest issue with this is plugin convergence, Nobody is going to have the exact same plugins and load order as me simply because I have custom plugins I made myself for QoL stuff. Is there any way to relax that requirement or at least make it easier to switch between the two. I'm not sure what ...
