Re: Free Software vs Open Source

I stand on the Free software side and am also a supporter of Free culture in general. I'm only playing libre games and recently I began to try to only read CreativeCommons and public domain books, movies, music etc. Open-source is maybe a better understandable name and it gets people hooked more eas...

Re: Free-licensed game in OpenMW engine?

I don't think that licencing the content of a game based on OpenMW engine is necessarily bad. But the current copyright laws in every country are really bad. Yeah, the state of copyright legislation is basically what I creates all these issues and worries of "IP stealing" because copyrigh...

Re: Segmentation fault when running launcher

If you've got the project compiled with debug symbols, valgrind can tell you where and why the program crashed.

Re: Free-licensed game in OpenMW engine?

What do people here think of monetizing content for OpenMW? Well the current legislation allows it and we're all aware it can be done, so it's not really an issue - it's also a question of free software in general, not OpenMW. Personally I'm against proprietary games - not because of money, but bec...

Re: Microsoft Buys Github for $7.5 Billion

Since we've already tested GitLab, could the official instructions on contributing be updated to include GitLab? (I'd do it but it seems like registration is closed on the wiki.)

Re: Official Diaspora* OpenMW account?

That thing is still around? I'm impressed! Yeah I know, few people... but very dedicated to FOSS :) Would be enough to just make the Twitter account also post to D*, no extra work beyond that. EDIT: As I'm looking into it, it is easy to crosspost from D* to Twitter, but it's harder the other way ar...

Official Diaspora* OpenMW account?

Hello, I just thought if we maybe could create an official OpenMW account at Diaspora social network and add it to outreach ? The network is gaining more and more users now after the Facebook scandals, and basically everyone there is an open-source fan, so I think this would bring more people. The a...

Re: OpenMW 0.45.0

I want to contribute to OpenCS but I am a 3D Artist. What can I do to help? Probably no way to help directly, but you can at least test the quality of the 3D view and manipulation and give feedback, since you have experience with that. Other than that I'd also like if you helped the example suite p...

I transitioned to GitLab and I want to finish the PR from there - it's here now. I thought it would show up at GitHub but it apparently doesn't. I'll leave a comment at the PR, thanks for the notice.
