While it is possible to store data in a homogeneous format on both memory and disk - such a thing today...cause large hits on performance, memory usage, and disk space. My reason for posting this topic is I will be building my computer in about 6-7 y...

Re: OpenMW’s mb/s data load rate?

I don’t know what a fixed cost per file is. It sounds like you’re saying even with the fastest hardware on the market, there is a limit as to how quickly the data files can be retrieved, because of a limitation on the actual game data?

OpenMW’s mb/s data load rate?

I read games are limited by their mb/s data load rate. Is anybody familiar with this term? Does this mean no matter how fast your SSD or M.2 drive is, you’ll be limited by the game’s data load rate?

Re: NVIDIA Turing GPUs

So is ray tracing something the OpenMW engine could utilize if the computer setup was beefy enough?

Re: Time passing while in some menus

Hi all, 1. Only inventory menu affected, the main menu still causes game pause (seems to be OK) 2. If you start dialogue and NPC get killed or became inaccessible dialogue will continue (bug) 3. Not tested yet. But I think an item will be removed from inventory (problem) Yes, there are some cases w...

I like the fixed behavior myself, too. It poses more of a challenge for pure mages when fighting spriggans or golden saints.

Re: Blender as terrain editor (bLandscapeTools)

How would you merge the terrain that was created in Blender into the esp file that would be created in OpenMW-CS?

This does sound exciting. Blender would allow for vertical terrain.

Re: Another OpenMW competitor

OpenMW does have a physics system, based on Bullet. Havok and SpeedTree are just libraries used by the game engine. They can be initial 'stubbed' meaning they are placeholders in place and be further worked on and improved. How do you think OpenMW got anywhere? By coding it. ;) Well, not being a pr...

NPC stuck in 0.40.0 - Not my submission

I posted this here in the official BethSoft Forums. This isn't a glitch I found myself but Hul the Argonian in Balmora got stuck in one of the static mesh floors in v0.40.0. I know you guys are working on 0.42.0 but I saw this in Zaric Zhakaron's OpenMW 0.40.0 play-through and wasn't sure if it was ...
