Re: 2 questions regarding water and view distance

These look awesome! It looks like the best place to implement all of this is in the weather code. The only problem is you run into this sort of slippery slope about de-hardcoding. You could put the locations of all the shaders in the fallback file, but at that point you've set up a (workable) method...

Re: Export/Import XML

dteviot: That would be the easy way ;)

Did you do any work on this? If you did then I could copy it off of your github. If not, thanks for the starting place.

I don't have much time right now for openmw, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Re: OpenMW Game Template

That's awesome! What's the scale for the Oahu map? How does it look if you expand it to full 1:1? Of course, I doubt it's that detailed. Might consider adding something to generate realistic detail based on a real map to WorldEngine. Simulate different types of ground and weather for an erosion patt...

Re: OpenMW Game Template

I vote for the more complex logo with two dragons around a spinning cog in the center.

Export/Import XML

This would be a nice feature for larger projects like Tamriel Rebuilt. These projects are sharing around binary blobs. Even if they are using version control, it can't do difference tracking or merging. Converting esps and esms to one or more XML files would certainly make things like tracking, revi...

Re: Elder-scrolls IV Oblivion

Scrawl and Zini have both said NO!!! to this multiple times.

I've looked at the feasibility of expanding our NIF importer to use later versions of texture files, so moders would have more readily available content, but was shot down immediately.

AIWander getRandomIdle()

So, I've been spending time on the AIWander code, and realized that there are some improvements that could be made. Most of those improvements are here. https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/pull/701 Now, this is nice and all, but the way getRandomIdle() calculates things still isn't that intuitive to me...

Re: Openmw and Skywind

I had an issue with this code, but just found and fixed the problem. :) https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/pull/425 I've gone ahead and templated everything. From here a templated functions that only reads data in depending on the file version is easy. I've already written one in the branch I posted e...

Re: Openmw and Skywind

Why do you think I keep making nif file error handling more robust. :D If you're interested in looking at nif files from different versions you might want to look at this: https://github.com/EmperorArthur/openmw/tree/nif_handle-more My current plan is to make templated getters actually work, and tra...

Re: OpenMW 0.33.0

I'll have to see if there's a way for the compiler to tell if it's compiling for a big endian architecture or not. I suspect there is, but haven't looked. If there is, it should be pretty easy to make the changes needed to read nif files on a big endian machine.
