Re: Some questions about OpenMW!

Could you explain this? How, exactly, would development be improved if people could keep their contributions (or linking to code) closed-source?

Re: Compiling succeeds, running fails [solved]

@BrotherBrick: Should there be a post-rm script so when someone purges the openmw package it deletes ~/.config/openmw?

This way if someone does "apt-get purge openmw", ~/.config/openmw will go away as well.

Re: OpenMW does not run out of the box with saucy

It was brought to my attention that the OpenMW ppa's Ogre package contains all the plugins. They should be in a separate package each. This is especially for the Cg plugin, which we don't need and which screws things up if it's installed anyway, but libcg is not installed. For other plugins, it's n...

Re: OpenMW 0.27.0

Our PPA has builds for all Ubuntu releases except for Saucy, this is because we are still waiting for a fix to land in Saucy (Ogre3D SRU) which should be any day now. We are going full dynamic libs here, so our users will need to first have our build PPA then openmw PPA, this is the same as for any...

Re: OpenMW 0.28.0

I think you misinterpreted the license. It says you aren't allowed to modify and redistribute without his permission. Anyway, we now use morrowind's daedric font, so Obliviontt.zip can be deleted. I know it's resolved, I wanted to make sure this point is clear: saying that you aren't allowed to mod...

Re: OpenMW 0.28.0

We hit a snag on packaging for Debian in regard to the obliviontt.zip and its license. Specifically: Please do not modify and redistribute the fonts without my permission. . You may NOT sell any of these fonts under any circumstances. This includes putting them on compilation font CDs for sale, put...

Re: OpenMW does not run out of the box with saucy

my mistake that the version wasn't changed. It wouldn't have worked anyways, it changes all the *-1.8.0.install file names to *-1.8.1.install, but doesn't change the control file package names so no file would have been installed. It wouldn't break many packages, but since it's already been released...

Re: OpenMW does not run out of the box with saucy

I see in your saucy and trusty builds in debian/rules: # Use this variable to define the particular version of OGRE that we're building OGRE_VERSION=1.8.0 Am I mistaken or should this be 1.8.1 and would that solve the issue? I'll be able to test more tomorrow. Thanks for looking into this. :) that'...

Re: OpenMW does not run out of the box with saucy

Awesome sauce Scott! :) How do I get those wondrous powers? :P Update: Your fix doesn't solve the problem, the directory is still /usr/lib/xxx/OGRE-1.8.0 looked into it more: ubuntu kind of half-assed it... the kept the package names and directories the same, but added a new version. pkgconfig know...

Re: OpenMW does not run out of the box with saucy

I made a bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ogre-1.8/+bug/1244592 if more people can login here and complain, that would be great to help raise the 'heat' level of the bug. So (2) is done for now. If only there was someone with magic ubuntu dust that can escillate things... ;) This...
