Re: Images

We could do this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/26396163/how-can-i-display-externally-hosted-images-in-my-sphinx-restructured-text-docu so we can do this a few ways: 1) apart GL project/repo to host binaries (images) and link to those. 2) use an image hosting service and link to that. 3) some ...

Maybe some additions to the FAQ could be made. But then people probably wouldn't read it anyway.
That would be an best-effort approach and just refer to the FAQ.

Re: Images

Not that I'm aware of.

However... there are options for hosting images. We can setup a repo for example to handle that, but I'm not sure that sphinx supports out of tree images.

Re: Is there a better way to document mod compatibility?

Setting up a gitlab account, learning git, cloning, committing, pushing, learning how to make a PR makes for quite a big barrier of entry for a non developper contributor. This learning curve is steeper than editing a wikimedia entry. The recent move to use the base user manual to RTD with sphynx h...

Re: Help us plan OpenMW's future

IDA, for example, allows retargetting decompilation from machine code to assembly and from assembly to C, but the result isn't pretty. It will make a best effort but give you things like: variable_467, sub_function_6634 You lose all context given to function names and variable names which means you'...

How to manage an open-source project

There is a bit here open to discussion, but considering recent events I thought it was relevant. While I agree with most, I do believe having a "vision" is a way to realize a goal by prioritizing what needs to be done to reach a viable release. By allowing wild-growth could lead to project instabili...

Re: Change fork ribbon to Gitlab

Isn't that just html? Couldn't we just use the same 'button' but have href point to gitlab instead? ;)

Anyway, it's unofficial and we could fork the repo onto GitLab and make our own damn buttons.

Re: color saturation

Thanks for this. I too started getting into OSG, with real opengl knowledge before hand. I downloaded this: https://www.packtpub.com/game-development/openscenegraph-30-beginners-guide and followed through, so I had a basic understanding of what is going on but still feel 'lost' most of the time. :/ ...

Re: The Future of OpenMW Scripting

So what do you expect by running this code?

Code: Select all

Array(16).join('hero'-1) + "Batman";
Did you expect this?
Spoiler: Show
At least with Python you would get:

I assume that Lua does type checking as well.

Re: Help us plan OpenMW's future

> signalling to the world that OpenMW has full parity with the original Morrowind engine What about mods that have scripts with flaws in them that work with vanilla? Do all "vanilla" mods work with Open MW now? Broken scripts are broken, OpenMW-CS can help detect these broken scripts. OpenMW 1.0 is...
