Re: Windows Pre-build Script Documentation Updated

I updated cmake and the bullet error went away, presumably the msbuild issue wouldn't happen anymore either. Had to edit build.msvc.sh to do VS 2015 because I couldn't figure out what it expected for me to get it to use 2015 instead of 2013 via command line flags. (I only have the VS 2015 command li...

Re: Windows Pre-build Script Documentation Updated

The Qt download for the CI script froze for me, the filesize got to 250MB and stopped increasing. I had to stop the script (with ctrl+c), delete the qt archive/executable, and then rerun the script. I didn't have 7z in my path so the bullet extraction step just failed silently without any visible er...

Re: Microsoft Buys Github for $7.5 Billion

On its own, cmake can be made to work with msys and mingw, but it throws warnings at you if your environment deviates from what it expects (e.g. if you have gnu make instead of mingw32-make).

Re: Microsoft Buys Github for $7.5 Billion

A batch or bash script is fine. Powershell is unnecessary weight.

Re: Windows Pre-build Script Documentation Updated

Just going to respond to a certain point - the vanilla engine is actually incredibly annoying, it's not really a point for Windows users.

Re: Windows Pre-build Script Documentation Updated

Eight hours is ridiculous, sorry. Glad the documentation isn't broken now.

Re: Microsoft Buys Github for $7.5 Billion

I've heard good things about MSYS2 , maybe using that to build on windows would be easier for developers ? http://www.msys2.org/ MSYS2 is a software distro and building platform for Windows At its core is an independent rewrite of MSYS, based on modern Cygwin (POSIX compatibility layer) and MinGW-w...

Re: Microsoft Buys Github for $7.5 Billion

Sorry to jump on the tangent, but I agree that building OpenMW on Windows is a massive pain. It's the reason I only ever made a single contribution. Ideally the project would include all the dependencies in-tree like ioquake3 does. I don't see that happening, but it's an example of what a good exper...

Re: OpenMW 0.44.0

If the release branch is based on the current master, then it contains a recent major regression that prevents casting magic on non-actors from working (e.g. unlock on touch). It's fixed by this PR from akortunov: https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/pull/1725
