Re: PBR - Physics Based Rendering

I use latest .fbx that ships with Maya 2017. So I'm using StingrayPBS material and that's probably why you can't open in Blender. But here is the axe mesh as .obj and all the maps I have created. http://www.filedropper.com/axenew So in Blender or any other similar application it should look somethi...

Re: PBR - Physics Based Rendering

The download contains an .fbx file I can't open in Blender or convert to other formats for some reason, so I can't get it into the game. I could open it directly in the Unity engine, but there are no textures included, so no PBR either way.

Re: Vulkan support

I play around with openmw on a laptop that is 6 years old. I was hoping not to get "phased out" due to graphics surpassing the laptop. Not everyone is able to get a new rig for openmw (oh, I will upgrade eventually...). I believe there is no reason why you should at some point no longer b...

Re: Cel-Shading?

Watercolored Morrowind with cel shading? I would totally play that! Only with outlines, though, not with solid surfaces.

Re: What can OMW physics do?

You'd probably have to edit most meshes and (possibly) game objects to make "real" physics work, anyway. You can't just make the engine capable of doing something and expect the game to do it by itself. But it seems you are aware of that.

Re: What Is Holding Back Dynamic Shadows In Oblivion?

I think at some point Alenet had plans to add shadows to Oblivion Reloaded, but the current version (6.0.0) doesn't have them, and that is supposed to be the last one after the remaining bugs have been fixed and missing features from previous versions have been added back in. He's said that before, ...

Re: New Door & Wood Grain Column Textures: Comments & Critiq

Ok, I see the problem. This time you need to save the normal map as DXT5 because of the transparency! With DXT1, the alpha channel is only 1 bit, so every pixel is either fully transparent or fully opaque, and additionally, all transparent pixels get set to white, so the normal map's RGB information...

Re: New Door & Wood Grain Column Textures: Comments & Critiq

However, I expected to be able to add data into the empty alpha channel of a normal map, then simply remove the alpha channel and be left with the same RBG normal map I started with. That doesn't seem to be the case, tho. I feel like I need to do more experimenting to understand what is happening i...

Re: New Door & Wood Grain Column Textures: Comments & Critiq

Thanks to both of you for the explanation. It was very helpful. I was able to get the some height data into the alpha channel of a normal map, but It didn't work the way I thought it should work in OpenMW. The results I got when loading the map tagged as "_nh" looked strange and were unus...

Re: New Door & Wood Grain Column Textures: Comments & Critiq

I've been able to get pretty good results using Awesome Bump V5 . I had a problem with the UI hanging on startup, but the solution is to remove sky_cube_env.obj, which solves the problem AwesomeBump is a pretty powerful program, yes, but I've had problems with generated normal maps being a few pixe...
