Re: Microsoft buys Bethesda... What does it mean for OpenMW?
Don't think it means much for OpenMW. It's more interesting to ponder about what it means for Bethesda itself. Big company merging into an even bigger company. The Bethesda Softworks part of it that makes TES and Fallout games has been underperforming for some time. They made Skyrim in 2011 and sure...

Re: Using Bliaron 2nd Ed. material for example suite
- magic items have conditions when the spells are active (this requires some scripting capabilities probably) - effects that alter the statistics of the target character I thought of giving the player abilities, like the knight ability, which fortifies block, long blade and heavy armor by 5. And gi...

Re: Using Bliaron 2nd Ed. material for example suite
One thing that has came to my mind is porting this to OpenMW, but it probably requires forking the main branch into a custom branch, but can you think of which of these are missing, but would be useful for the OpenMW's spell engine itself? A bit unrelated. But I always wanted to have enchantments t...

Re: sources of 3D assets
I think the most troublesome part is the animation and proper mapping of bones in the way the engine expects. There was actually already a human model done with makehuman but there were problems with the armature, last time I checked the camera wasn't even properly placed because it couldn't find t...

Re: COVID-19 Well wishes
Back in January people were talking about how these exercises for pandemics are being carried out, particularly the Bill Gates pandemic exercise comes to mind. You can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vm1-DnxRiPM The virus in that exercise is very similar to the current one btw. We were...

Re: COVID-19 Well wishes
I started following this COVID-19 thing on January out of curiosity, saw it becoming inevitable by Februry. Prepared myself in every way I could conceive, but I'm mostly relying on my good health. For a long time, it seemed as if I was I was doing crazy preparations and nothing was happening. Sudden...

Re: OpenMW winner of The Linux GOTY award!
OpenRA is a very good and popular as well, so against such a competitor it is indeed quite a win.

Re: Issue with blessings from shrines. Possible mod issue?
Do you have absorb spell? Atronach star sign or the Necromancer's amulet might just suck the blessing away. Incidentally these things also do it 50% and 25% of the time respectively.

Re: Bound Weapons Expiry Desired Behavior
Just my opinion, but forcing the player to immediately draw the previous weapon makes sense. No use swinging a weapon that doesn't exist anymore.

Re: Can't seem to fix that old animation bug that makes NPCs fall off cliffs
What directory is your mod in and what does your "data=" line look like? The line should navigate into the data file folder where you have mesh folder. For example, you have mods folder that leads into data files that leads into meshes which contains the anim.nifs. Then you want to navigat...
