Re: Documentation

Hmm, well I'm thinking move fonts to RTD and leave the other two on the wiki. For fonts we're specifically describing how to install them, but for the other two we're kind of giving guidelines on how best to use other programs. Perhaps some of the information should be included in the documentation ...

Re: Documentation

I've included the relevant parts of our conversation, but I think scrawl and I agree now on what should be done regarding this particular issue: Probably not a good idea to duplicate the wiki content. Would be more work to keep information up to date. Either the wiki should link to the manual, or th...

Re: Documentation

How are we deciding what type of information goes where within our website and literature? In other words, what goes in our published documentation, and what are we just leaving to the wiki? I ask because I'm currently putting a list of the config settings into the documentation but scrawl thinks th...

Re: How do you register BSA Files with OpenMW?

The bsa should be added as archive= not as fallback-archive=.[...] I've just tried that -- and the .bsa file wasn't loaded. (Or did you mean that it SHOULD work this way but wasn't implemented yet?) This is why I used the "fallback-archive" option in the first place. I found the suggestio...

Re: Difficulty of leveled list merging in OpenMW

There's no indication of if the mod's definition needs to replace or append/edit the original list Ah that makes sense. I had assumed just do a full comparison of each list and simply mash everything together proportionally, but that doesn't account for when you're purposefully replacing and removi...

@DestinedToDie

Do BSAs have to be in the fallback portion?

Re: How do you register BSA Files with OpenMW?

I think this will clear up many of your questions. If there is anything unclear let me know because I'm the author lol. The documentation is very much a work in progress so many other portions are missing or incomplete, however I think this section at least contains what it needs to. Edit: I realize...

Difficulty of leveled list merging in OpenMW

So I know this isn't really on the table at any point in the near future, but I stumbled upon this in the wiki and it got me wondering: Does openmw need an outside utility to merge leveled lists or does it do what the original engine does and only take the last changes? If not, are there plans to im...

Re: The new FAQ video(s)

Whew! I read through the whole thing haha. I think this is great, very comprehensive. I have a few notes below based on the line numbers of the PDF version, most are language, but some are content. In general, your English is pretty much impeccable so you'd probably notice some of these as you read ...

Re: Request: Reintroduce news posts

I wholeheartedly support this. I do realize writing about the bugs might be difficult, but I think learning about the inner workings of games is really interesting. I think this would also help clear up confusion around release time if there are delays. It's a much lower barrier to entry to read a b...
