Re: PBR in OpenMW on reddit

MGE XE has a PBR prototype, and a few things have been made for it. Once that settles down, it becomes more viable to start making similar changes in OpenMW. My only concern with this is people expecting PBR assets made for MGE XE to look the same in OpenMW, which is not necessarily the case. I wou...

Re: Can't remove mouse

I'm guessing you mean the controller is just moving around the cursor rather than selecting things like you would on a proper console? Unfortunately, unless things have changed significantly while I've been away, this is pretty much how things work. While OpenMW technically has controller support, n...

PBR in OpenMW on reddit

Don’t want this to turn into a rehash of things we’ve discussed at length before, but saw this on reddit and didn’t immediately find any mention here or on discord. Is this something we have someone actively working on now? The lanterns and general darkness show just how much work beyond simple text...

Re: Portals to interiors (post 2.0 feature)

This feature would be fantastic. I have always hoped for realtime windows that are essentially the same thing, minus being able to move through the portal. I'm sure the computational cost is the reason it's never a thing, but one can dream. Maybe once we have realtime ray-tracing ;) That's a really ...

How to contribute to open source without coding

For everyone out there who wishes they could help but don’t know C++! We’ve discussed all these before but thought I’d share :D

Re: Distant objects

I won’t pretend to understand the intricacies of that but everyone seems to feel confident it will work and seems to make sense, so I’m excited. Any chance anyone is working on this already? Or has most of the focus shifted to bug fixes and the CS?

Re: A Call to Screenshots

Disclaimer: The following is just my opinion. You're free to completely go nuts here. 8-) I wouldn't mess around with the graphics too much; increase the viewing distance a bit, make sure to enable all water shader options, and max out all in-game menu graphics options... I'd only use graphics mods...

Re: Morrowind “Oral History”

One of the quotes in the article basically said as much. Something along the lines of we realized we don’t need to ship a perfect game lol. One of the interesting takeaways for me was how uncoordinated the whole thing was. When we get into these big arguments about how the devs “obviously intended” ...

Morrowind “Oral History”

Came across this and found it thoroughly enjoyable. Figured you all might enjoy reading about our favorite game :D We give a lot of shit to Bethesda, but it sheds light on the circumstances that brought Morrowind about. Doesn’t explain why the later titles are so damn buggy, but they get a pass from...
