Re: Ubuntu 14.04, Mir, and OpenMW.

I'm with you scrawl - I am kind of suprised by this move... I suggested rolling back the changes. It's suprising they snuck it in at the last minute so that no one could question them. Luckily our daily builds caught it, but it doesn't seem like they care. The point is that openmw is unbuildable on ...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04, Mir, and OpenMW.

I don't think we want to change our codebase to work around a problem that's going to affect every SDL2 application on Ubuntu. It appears SDL upstream has fixed the issue anyway, so it's just a matter of Ubuntu updating to a non-broken package. It doesn't fix it for us since we don't use pkg-config...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04, Mir, and OpenMW.

Could someone with trusty try:

it needs to be rebased, but it's a simple fix

Re: Ubuntu 14.04, Mir, and OpenMW.

Here's a quick patch for those that want a workaround: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~openmw/openmw/trunk/view/head:/debian/patches/mir_support.patch Are we going to need these for 0.30 on Debian, or generic enough to include in openmw itself or will this be a Ubuntu specific patch? I only say this b...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04, Mir, and OpenMW.

The daily build PPA has been patched to use Mir in trusty. Please test it, it should be built in an hour or so:
https://code.launchpad.net/~openmw/+arc ... enmw-daily

really strange that they enabled it days before release... especially since 14.04 is an LTS release

Re: Ubuntu 14.04, Mir, and OpenMW.

ha - i've been fighting this all day, might as well share what I learned... trusty just enabled MIR with sdl2. However, MIR installs headers in /usr/include/mirclient and requires that to be added to the include path, which by defauly does not. Therefore, it practically requires pkgconfig to tell bu...

Re: Crash on starting the game - Mint Debian Edition

it looks like your mixing ogre libraries, it's possible the github/sourceforge binaries might not work for you either. Did you follow the instructions at: https://wiki.openmw.org/index.php?title=Installation_Instructions#The_Debian_Way that will allow you to pull in the required libraries when you i...
