Re: Shadows

I wanted to test the shadows but I'm only seeing a cyan rectangle in the bottom left of the screen :) Is there anything I have to do to enable this, or is it just in untestable state now?

Re: A way to look for bugs in CS

It's a good idea and you have my thanks for committing that time to testing. This will also allow you to post valuable feedback for design decisions as a user of the program, write tutorials etc. Thumbs up.

Re: Transparent Object Markers

There are multiple manipulators when you select multiple objects? I think that's wrong, there should be only one at the center of the whole selection.

Re: Shadows

Re: Transparent Object Markers

It looks like Blender is always drawing the arrows at the same size over the object and not scaling them when the user is zooming in and out. Would that be a solution for OpenMW-CS too? Yes it does, I mentioned this too. A lot of 3D editors do this because the user may operate at very small or big ...

Re: Transparent Object Markers

On a side note, I strongly dislike how it is drawn as a wireframe, and I much prefer the transparency approach.
I don't like the wireframe either, I just liked how the arrows weren't just cut off. The Godot ones look the best IMO.

Re: Transparent Object Markers

Your statement is accurate, and I agree we should do so to a point. That said, the editor is specialized for different tasks than software like Blender and it also has structural differences that would make it difficult to replicate the functionality of Blender, so I think its fine if we diverge. Re: Transparent Object Markers

Maybe take a look at some 3D software, mainly Blender as many open-source people are used to it, and consistency with what they know will also help.

Re: Share your cool development tricks.

There's also the 'showSceneGraph' console command (invoked with or without an object). It is a lot more verbose as well.
Thanks, it goes right into my cheatsheet. I'll still keep my snippet to be able to do filtering etc. though :)

Share your cool development tricks.

I just thought we could enrich each other by sharing our tricks and scripts. New devs will be able to copy the scripts right from here. Or just talk about whatever funny hacks you used for debugging or anything :) Here's what I have: my OpenMW cheatsheet: https://github.com/drummyfish/my_text_data/b...
