Re: OpenMW Game Template

Great work! I've been busy modeling and I think this handsome guy is fit to substitute that pink box right now. http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=73154416085328528383 I'm currently learning to rig and animate, so I'll probably practice on this very model and have a .kf file to accompany i...

And now I'm tempted to do this.

Re: Alpha blending problem

Glad to see you're still working on this.

I remember seeing my little sister playing Minecraft on tablet. That game could be OpenMW instead.

Re: General asset questions

Pretty good work and I very much appreciate it too!

Where do you get your models? I'd offer some of my not up to bar with standards models, but I'm sure you can get better stuff online.

Night and day length?

Hey. I'm wondering if the weather options to be implemented include night and day length? For example, let's say I want to make a mod that takes place near the polar areas, where days are much shorter and nights longer. Will a feature involving messing with day/night be implemented into OpenMW-CS?

Re: Ashes of Apocalypse

The hard part is coming up next. We need replacements for 3 KFs and 62 NIFs So I take it not ALL of the NIFs are super important, right? You could spend quite a few hours remaking them or you could simply replace them with a placeholder box, if that is satisfactory. Should anyone pick it up and sta...

Yep. The minimap shows quite well how the player is facing in regards to North/East/South/West, so a compass would be redundant.

Re: Is it possible to commercially release a game on OpenMW?

That would be pretty bad haha. There are some people who don't know how to mod, don't know what an engine is, etc, but they still want to play. It's fine if you're already used to modding your game, changing lines in .ini file or even coding a new engine, that 1 extra step is a walk in the park, if ...

Re: Is it possible to commercially release a game on OpenMW?

You can create your own content which is under your copyright, so you are in fact selling content that would run in/on an GPL based game engine. Basically, if you modify OpenMW then you'll need to provide the sources. If you don't modify it, and use as-is then you can just link to OpenMW in your do...

Is it possible to commercially release a game on OpenMW?

I've been reading the GNU GPL FAQ here: https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.en.html#DoesUsingTheGPLForAProgramMakeItGNUSoftware Although dumbed down, it still feels kind of like lawyer-talk to me. In several instances, I see "yes, you can sell it". However there's also stuff like this: https://www....
